Cenforce 100 mg: How It Works, How to Take It, and What to Check Before You Buy

A plain-English guide to Cenforce 100 mg (sildenafil citrate): how it works, timing and food, the right dose, side effects, who must not take it, and how to buy it safely online.

In this guide

  1. What Cenforce 100 mg actually is
  2. How sildenafil works (in plain English)
  3. How to take it so it works the first time
  4. Is 100 mg the right dose for you?
  5. Side effects, and who must not take it
  6. Cenforce 100 vs Viagra vs the other generics
  7. Buying Cenforce 100 online without getting burned
  8. Questions we get asked every week

Cenforce 100 mg is the tablet people mean when they say “the blue pill” and don’t want to pay Viagra money for it. Same active ingredient — 100 mg of sildenafil citrate — made by Centurion Laboratories in India, sold in strips of ten. It is far and away the most reordered product in our store. Not close.

Here’s the thing though. Most of the questions we answer about it are not “does it work?” They’re “why didn’t it work the first time?”, “can I take half?”, and “is this the same as the branded one?” So this guide is built around those. Ten minutes of reading, and you’ll know exactly how to use it, when to skip it, and how to buy it without paying for a fake.

Medical note. Sildenafil is a prescription medicine. Nothing on this page replaces a conversation with your doctor, especially if you take heart medication or have blood-pressure problems. We sell the tablets; we don’t diagnose.

What Cenforce 100 mg actually is

Strip away the marketing and Cenforce 100 is a generic sildenafil tablet. The molecule inside is identical to the one Pfizer patented in the 1990s and sold as Viagra. Once that patent expired, licensed manufacturers were free to make it, and Centurion Laboratories — a mid-sized Indian pharma company that also makes Vidalista — became one of the biggest.

The facts that matter:

  • Active ingredient: sildenafil citrate, 100 mg per tablet
  • Drug class: PDE5 inhibitor
  • Manufacturer: Centurion Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., India
  • Packaging: blister strips of 10 film-coated tablets, batch number and expiry printed on every strip
  • Licensed use: erectile dysfunction in adult men
  • Also available as: Cenforce 50, 150, 200 and the chewable Cenforce Soft 100

“Generic” is not a euphemism for “worse”. A generic has to contain the same active ingredient at the same strength and reach the bloodstream at the same rate as the original. What changes is the price — and the price changes a lot. A Viagra 100 mg tablet costs somewhere between $10 and $70 depending on the country and the pharmacy. A Cenforce 100 tablet from our 30-tablet pack works out at about $3.83, and the 360-tablet pack takes it down to roughly $1.10.

How sildenafil works (in plain English)

Ball-and-stick model of the sildenafil citrate molecule, the active ingredient in Cenforce 100 mg
The sildenafil molecule. It blocks one enzyme — PDE5 — and that is the whole trick.

An erection is plumbing. Arousal makes the body release nitric oxide, which raises a messenger chemical called cGMP inside the penis, which relaxes the smooth muscle and lets blood in. An enzyme called PDE5 constantly breaks cGMP back down. In a lot of men with ED — from age, diabetes, blood-pressure problems, or plain stress — the breakdown wins.

Sildenafil sits on PDE5 and stops it working for a few hours. cGMP builds up, the muscle relaxes, blood flows. That’s it.

Two consequences follow from this, and they answer half the emails we receive:

  1. It does nothing without arousal. The tablet doesn’t create the nitric-oxide signal; it only stops the signal being cancelled. Take it, sit on the sofa watching the news, and nothing happens. That is normal, not a faulty tablet.
  2. It is not an aphrodisiac and it does not affect desire. If low libido is the problem, sildenafil is the wrong tool.

How to take Cenforce 100 so it works the first time

We’ve watched a lot of first orders turn into “it didn’t do anything” emails, and almost every one of them comes down to timing or food. So, in order:

  1. Take it 45 to 60 minutes before sex. The leaflet says 30 to 60. In practice 30 minutes is cutting it fine for most men; give it the full hour the first few times.
  2. Take it on an empty stomach, or after a light meal. A heavy, fatty dinner — pizza, a curry, a steak — can delay absorption by an hour or more and blunt the peak. Water only. Grapefruit juice raises sildenafil levels and is best avoided.
  3. Go easy on alcohol. One or two drinks is fine. Beyond that alcohol itself causes ED and drops blood pressure, and you’ll blame the tablet.
  4. One tablet in 24 hours. Never two. Taking a second one because the first “didn’t work” doesn’t double the effect — it doubles the side effects.
  5. Expect it to last about 4 hours. Peak effect is at roughly one hour; it tails off after four or five. Tadalafil (Vidalista, Tadalista) is the option if you want a 36-hour window instead.
  6. Give it more than one try. Clinical data and our customers agree: some men need two or three attempts before it works consistently, partly because the first time carries a lot of performance pressure. Don’t judge it on one night.
Storage: keep the strips in the box, below 30 °C, away from the bathroom. The blister foil protects the tablets — don’t pop them all out into a pill organiser.

Is 100 mg the right dose for you?

Doctors usually start sildenafil at 50 mg and move up or down. 100 mg is the maximum licensed dose, and it is also — by a wide margin — the strength men actually buy, because it’s the one that works reliably for the most people.

Dose Who it suits How to get it
25 mg Men over 65, kidney or liver problems, or taking certain HIV or antifungal medicines that slow sildenafil clearance Cut a 50 mg tablet in half
50 mg The official starting dose; mild ED; first-timers who want to test side effects Cut a Cenforce 100 in half — the tablets split cleanly along the score line
100 mg Moderate to severe ED, or when 50 mg gave a partial result without side effects One Cenforce 100 tablet
150–200 mg Not a licensed dose. Cenforce 150 and 200 exist, but going above 100 mg mostly adds headache and flushing, not effect Only ever under medical advice

Our practical take: buying Cenforce 100 and halving it when you want 50 mg is cheaper than buying two strengths, and gives you both options in one pack. A pill cutter costs a couple of dollars and makes the halves even.

Side effects, and who must not take it

Sildenafil has been on the market since 1998 and taken by tens of millions of men, so its side-effect profile is boringly well known. The common ones are all caused by the same blood-vessel relaxation that makes it work:

  • Headache — the most common, in roughly one in six men. Water and a paracetamol sort it.
  • Facial flushing and a feeling of warmth
  • Blocked or runny nose
  • Indigestion or heartburn, especially with a big meal
  • A blue tint to vision or extra light sensitivity — harmless, passes in a few hours, and is a good sign the dose is at the top end for you
  • Dizziness when standing up quickly
  • Muscle or back ache — more typical of tadalafil, but it happens
Do not take sildenafil if you use nitrates. That means glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) sprays or tablets for angina, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate, nicorandil, and recreational “poppers” (amyl or butyl nitrite). The combination can crash your blood pressure to a dangerous level. This is the one absolute rule.

Talk to a doctor before using it if you have any of these:

  • A heart attack, stroke or serious arrhythmia in the last six months
  • Unstable angina, or chest pain during sex
  • Blood pressure that is very low (below 90/50) or uncontrolled high
  • Severe liver or kidney disease
  • A known eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa, or a previous episode of sudden vision loss (NAION)
  • Sickle-cell anaemia, leukaemia or myeloma (higher risk of a prolonged erection)
  • A penis deformity such as Peyronie’s disease
  • You take alpha-blockers for prostate or blood pressure (tamsulosin, doxazosin) — the doses need spacing

An erection lasting more than four hours is an emergency. It’s rare, but it is not something to sleep off. Go to a hospital.

Cenforce 100 vs Viagra vs the other generics

Wondering about tadalafil instead? We compared the two best-sellers head to head: Vidalista 20 vs Cenforce 100 — which one should you take?

The honest answer is that at the level of the active ingredient there is no difference between Cenforce 100, Viagra 100, Fildena 100, Kamagra 100 or Suhagra 100. They all deliver 100 mg of sildenafil citrate. What differs is the manufacturer, the shape and colour of the tablet, the inactive ingredients in the coating, and — mostly — the price.

Product Maker Sildenafil Form Price per tablet (our 30-pack)
Viagra 100 Pfizer / Viatris 100 mg Blue diamond tablet $10–$70 at retail pharmacies
Cenforce 100 Centurion Laboratories 100 mg Blue round film-coated tablet about $3.83
Cenforce Soft 100 Centurion Laboratories 100 mg Chewable, works ~15 min faster about $4.40
Fildena 100 Fortune Healthcare 100 mg Purple triangular tablet about $3.83
Kamagra 100 Ajanta Pharma 100 mg Blue tablet; also an oral jelly about $3.66 (32-pack)
Suhagra 100 Cipla 100 mg Blue tablet about $3.66 (32-pack)

Why do people pick Cenforce over the others? Three reasons keep coming up in our order notes:

  • → It’s the one their friend or forum recommended, so they start there and stick with what worked.
  • → Centurion’s blister strips are well printed, with batch and expiry embossed, which makes them easy to trust when they arrive.
  • → The same company makes Vidalista (tadalafil), so switching between the two later is simple.

Real difference between generics? The coating, and whatever your body happens to prefer. Some men swear Fildena is smoother on the stomach; others say the opposite. It’s individual. If one brand gives you a headache, try another before giving up on sildenafil.

Buying Cenforce 100 online without getting burned

This is the part we know something about, because we open the packs. Counterfeit sildenafil is a real problem — the tablets that get tested by regulators sometimes contain too little drug, too much, or something else entirely. A few things separate the real thing from a knock-off:

  1. Sealed manufacturer blisters, not loose tablets. Cenforce comes in foil strips of 10 with “Cenforce-100” and “Centurion Laboratories” printed on the back. Loose pills in a zip bag are a hard no.
  2. A batch number and an expiry date on every strip. Not on a sticker — printed into the foil.
  3. A shop that shows the price per tablet at every pack size. Sellers who hide the maths usually have a reason.
  4. Tracked shipping and a written reship-or-refund policy. Parcels do get held at customs. What matters is what the seller does next.
  5. A real reply from a real person when you email before ordering. Ask something specific — “which batch are you shipping?” — and see what comes back.
  6. No card details typed into a random checkout. We send payment options by email after the order for exactly this reason; nothing is charged on the website.

Pack-size maths, since it decides most orders: at our current prices a 30-pack costs $114.99 ($3.83 a tablet), 90 tablets is $165.99 ($1.84), 180 is $242.99 ($1.35) and 360 is $395.99 ($1.10). Delivery is free and tracked on every order to our supported countries. If you use it once or twice a week, the 90 or 180 pack is the sensible one — buy 360 and the expiry date, not your usage, becomes the limiting factor.

Questions we get asked every week

How long does Cenforce 100 take to work?

Usually 30 to 60 minutes on an empty stomach, up to two hours after a heavy meal. Plan for the full hour the first few times. It stays active for about four hours, and you still need to be aroused for it to do anything.

Is Cenforce 100 the same as Viagra?

Pharmacologically, yes: both contain 100 mg of sildenafil citrate and work the same way. Cenforce is a generic made by Centurion Laboratories in India; Viagra is the original brand from Pfizer. The tablet shape, coating and price are different. The effect is not.

Can I cut Cenforce 100 in half?

Yes. The tablets are scored and split cleanly, giving two 50 mg doses. That is the official starting dose, and it’s the cheapest way to try sildenafil if you’re unsure whether you need the full 100 mg. Use a pill cutter for even halves.

What should I not take with Cenforce 100?

Nitrates of any kind — GTN sprays or tablets, isosorbide, nicorandil, and “poppers”. The combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Also be careful with alpha-blockers, some HIV and antifungal medicines, and grapefruit juice, and keep alcohol to a drink or two.

Why didn’t it work the first time?

Nine times out of ten: taken too soon before sex, taken after a large fatty meal, too much alcohol, or simply first-night nerves. Sildenafil needs sexual stimulation to act. Try again on a different night with the full hour and a light stomach before deciding it doesn’t work for you.

How long do the tablets last in the pack?

Centurion prints the expiry on each strip; it is typically two to three years from manufacture. Keep them in the sealed blister, in the box, at room temperature. Don’t store them in a bathroom cabinet — humidity is what damages film-coated tablets.

What to do now

If you have already talked to a doctor and sildenafil is on the table, start with half a tablet on a quiet evening, no big dinner, no third drink, and a full hour of lead time. See how your body responds before moving to 100 mg. If you haven’t talked to a doctor — and you take anything for your heart or blood pressure — do that first. Then, when you’re ready, the Cenforce 100 mg product page shows every pack size with its price per tablet, and if anything is unclear, email us; a person answers, any hour.
