Same factory, two different molecules

Both are made by Centurion Laboratories in Gujarat, India, which is why the packaging looks like siblings. But:

• Cenforce 100 contains 100 mg sildenafil citrate — the generic of Viagra.
• Vidalista 20 contains 20 mg tadalafil — the generic of Cialis.

Both work the same way at the molecular level. They block an enzyme called PDE5, which stops the body breaking down the chemical (cGMP) that relaxes blood-vessel muscle and lets an erection happen. Neither creates arousal. Take either one and watch the news, nothing happens — and that is the number-one reason for “it didn’t work” emails, for both products.

The difference is how long each molecule stays in your blood. Sildenafil has a half-life of about 4 hours. Tadalafil’s is about 17.5 hours. That single number drives everything else in this comparison.

Timing: 4 hours vs 36 hours

Read that “useful window” row twice. Sildenafil is an appointment. Tadalafil is a weekend. Customers who buy Vidalista for the first time often email us on day two, slightly alarmed, to ask whether it’s normal that it still works. It is. That’s the product.

The flip side matters too. Because tadalafil hangs around for three days, so do its side effects — and if you take Vidalista on Friday and something unrelated happens on Saturday (you’re prescribed a nitrate spray in A&E, say), the drug is still in you. Sildenafil is gone by breakfast.

Food, alcohol and the “it didn’t work” problem

Side effects: headache vs backache

Both drugs share the same family of side effects, because they come from the same blood-vessel relaxation. But each has a signature.

Who should be extra careful with either: men with a heart attack or stroke in the last six months, unstable angina, very low or uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe liver or kidney disease, a history of sudden vision loss (NAION), retinitis pigmentosa, sickle cell, or a penis deformity. Alpha-blockers for prostate (tamsulosin, doxazosin) need spacing with either drug — a doctor’s call.

20 mg vs 100 mg is not “weaker vs stronger”

Which has fewer side effects?
