Fildena 100 vs Fildena 150: the purple pill, explained

Fildena is the purple one. Where Cenforce and Kamagra copy Viagra’s blue, Fortune Healthcare went the other way and pressed its sildenafil into a purple triangle, and that single decision is why half our Fildena customers found it in the first place. “The purple pill” gets typed into search bars a lot.

We stock two strengths: Fildena 100 and Fildena 150. The question we get is always the same — is the 150 worth the extra? — and the answer is shorter than people expect. This guide covers both tablets, how they stack up against Cenforce 100 (which contains the exact same drug), and what each one costs per tablet at our current prices.

The short answer

Fildena 100 is 100 mg of sildenafil — the maximum licensed dose, the same as Viagra 100 and Cenforce 100. Fildena 150 is 150 mg, which is 50 mg above the ceiling any regulator has approved. For most men the 150 adds headache and flushing, not a better result. Buy the 100, halve it to start, and only think about the 150 if a doctor has told you to. Fildena 100 versus Cenforce 100 is a coin toss at the molecule level; the difference is coating, colour and — barely — price.

What Fildena is, and why it’s purple

Fildena is a generic sildenafil citrate tablet made by Fortune Healthcare, a Gujarat-based manufacturer that also produces Tadalista (tadalafil). It’s been on the market for well over a decade and it’s one of the three or four sildenafil brands that show up in our order notes every single week.

The purple is just a dye. No effect on how the tablet works, no bearing on strength — it just makes Fildena easy to recognise.

How the drug works is the same story as every sildenafil tablet: it blocks the PDE5 enzyme that breaks down cGMP, the chemical that relaxes blood-vessel muscle and lets an erection happen. It does nothing without arousal. Take it, sit through the news, nothing. That’s not a faulty tablet. Fildena 100 vs Fildena 150: the dose question

Sildenafil’s label has three numbers on it: 25, 50 and 100 mg. Start at 50, adjust up or down. 100 is the top. That ceiling wasn’t picked to be cautious — the trials tested higher and found the benefit had already flattened. Above 100 mg you get more of the drug in your blood, but the enzyme it’s blocking is already mostly blocked. What you do get more of is the side-effect list: headache, flushing, blocked nose, blue-tinted vision, low blood pressure.

So why does Fildena 150 exist? Because a small number of men who genuinely don’t respond to 100 mg are, under a doctor’s supervision, tried on more. Fortune Healthcare makes a tablet for them. That’s a legitimate product for a narrow group. It is not the next rung on a ladder that everyone climbs.

The pattern we see, order after order: a man gets a partial result from Fildena 100 — taken after a big dinner, forty minutes before, with three drinks — and orders the 150. Same conditions, same partial result, plus a pounding headache. The dose was never the problem. The clock and the dinner were.

The half-tablet trick

Fildena 150 has one honest use case outside a doctor’s instruction: some men take half, a 75 mg dose between the two licensed strengths. The tablets are scored and split cleanly enough. But if 50 mg works, you don’t need 75, and if 100 works, you don’t need 150.

Fildena 100 vs Cenforce 100: same molecule, different factory

This one lands in the inbox almost as often as the 100-vs-150 question. Both tablets contain 100 mg of sildenafil citrate. Both are generics of Viagra. Both come in strips of ten with batch and expiry on the foil. Both are priced the same in our 30-pack. The differences are real but small:

Pharmacologically they are the same product. What differs is the inactive stuff — the coating, the binders, the dye — and whatever your body happens to prefer. Some men swear Fildena sits easier on the stomach. Others say the exact opposite about Cenforce. We’ve stopped trying to referee it. If one brand gives you a headache or heartburn, switching to the other is a cheap experiment worth running before you give up on sildenafil.

The other honest reason to pick one: whichever your friend recommended. Consistency matters more than the colour of the pill.

How to take Fildena so it works the first time

Same six rules as every sildenafil tablet. Break them and you’ll be emailing us about a tablet that “didn’t work”. Follow them and it usually does.

1. 45–60 minutes before. The leaflet says 30–60. The first few times, give it the full hour.
2. Light stomach. A fatty dinner can push absorption back by an hour and blunt the peak. Water, not grapefruit juice.
3. One tablet in 24 hours. Two Fildena 100s is a 200 mg dose — double the ceiling, by accident.
4. Alcohol: one or two drinks. More than that causes ED on its own and lowers blood pressure.
5. Arousal required. The tablet stops the erection signal being cancelled; it doesn’t send the signal.
6. Try more than once. Some men need two or three attempts before it works consistently. First-night nerves are real.

Side effects, and who must not take it

Sildenafil has been taken by tens of millions of men since 1998. Its side-effect list is boringly well known, and all of it comes from the same blood-vessel relaxation that makes the drug work:

• Headache — the most common, in about one in six men at 100 mg. More at 150.
• Facial flushing and warmth
• Blocked or runny nose
• Indigestion, worse with a big meal
• Blue-tinted vision or light sensitivity — harmless, passes in hours, and a reliable sign the dose is at the top end for you. Distinctly more common at 150 mg.
• Dizziness when standing up fast
• Muscle or back ache — more a tadalafil thing, but it happens

Talk to a doctor first if you’ve had a heart attack or stroke in the last six months, have unstable angina or chest pain during sex, very low or uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe liver or kidney disease, a history of sudden vision loss (NAION), retinitis pigmentosa, sickle cell, leukaemia or myeloma, or a penis deformity such as Peyronie’s. Alpha-blockers for prostate or blood pressure (tamsulosin, doxazosin) need spacing from sildenafil — a doctor’s decision.

An erection lasting more than four hours is an emergency. Rare, more likely at higher doses, and not something to wait out. Hospital.

Three things to notice:

• → The Fildena 100 100-pack at $174.99 ($1.75 a tablet) is the natural mid-sized order. Every step up the ladder lowers the per-tablet price, down to $1.15 at 300.
• → Fildena 100 halved gives 50 mg doses at about $0.88 each in the 100-pack. That’s the cheapest way to run the official starting dose.

Which one should you order?

Pick Fildena 100 if:

• → You’re new to sildenafil — halve it for the first two or three tries
• → 50 mg gave a partial result without side effects
• → You’ve used Cenforce or Kamagra 100 and just want to try the purple one

Pick Fildena 150 only if:

• → A doctor has specifically told you to take more than 100 mg
• → You plan to halve it for a 75 mg dose, and 50 mg was too little while 100 gave side effects

Our opinion: Fildena 100 is the right box for nearly everyone. One pack covers 50 mg and 100 mg, the two licensed doses that between them work for the vast majority of men. Fildena 150 is a real product for a small group, and the purple triangle doesn’t get more effective because the number on it got bigger. If 100 fails after several proper attempts, the next step is a doctor — or a different molecule — not a heavier tablet.

Is Fildena 150 better than Fildena 100?

No — it’s higher, not better. Sildenafil’s benefit flattens around 100 mg, the licensed maximum, while side effects keep rising. Fildena 150 sits 50 mg above that ceiling and should only be taken under medical advice. Most men get a full result at 100 mg when timing and food are right.

Is Fildena the same as Viagra?

Fildena 100 contains 100 mg of sildenafil citrate, the same active ingredient at the same strength as Viagra 100. It’s a generic made by Fortune Healthcare in India. The purple colour, triangular shape and price are different; the drug and its effect are not. There is no Viagra equivalent of Fildena 150.

Fildena 100 or Cenforce 100 — which is better?

Neither. Both are 100 mg sildenafil tablets from established Indian manufacturers, priced the same in our 30-pack. They differ in colour, coating and inactive ingredients. If one gives you a headache or heartburn, try the other. Otherwise pick whichever you’ve heard of and stick with it.

Can I cut Fildena in half?

Yes. Both strengths are scored. Half a Fildena 100 is the official 50 mg starting dose; half a Fildena 150 is 75 mg. Use a pill cutter — the triangle splits cleanly but unevenly by hand.

How long does Fildena take to work?

Usually 30 to 60 minutes on an empty stomach, up to two hours after a heavy, fatty meal. It stays active for about four to five hours. Fildena 150 does not act faster than Fildena 100; onset is about the drug reaching your blood, not the size of the dose.

Why is Fildena purple?

It’s a dye in the film coating, chosen by Fortune Healthcare to set the brand apart from the blue generics. It has no effect on how the tablet works. The one practical benefit: if you keep more than one ED medicine at home, the purple triangle is hard to mix up.
